Based on credible tape label ("GD Practice Dubs 2-20-77"). We now believe this was a practice at home before they started paying for studio time down in LA. A band itinerary shows Kreutzmann, Garcia, Hart and Keith Godchaux flying from SF to LA on PSA #270 on the afternoon of 2/21, with session work starting 4 PM that day and continuing through 2/25.

Club Front Notes:
This page lists albums that were recorded or partly recorded at Club Front, San Rafael, CA.
The Club Front building, which was at 20 Front Street in San Rafael, was initially rented, at the end of 1976 or early in 1977, as a rehearsal space for the Jerry Garcia Band. By mid-1977 it was converted into a recording studio and used for the recording of Cats Under The Stars. At some point in mid to late 1978 the facility was transferred over to the Grateful Dead and it became their main rehearsal and recording studio.
The facility is variously referred to on album covers and other literature as Club Front, Le Club Front, Club Le Front, Front Street and 20 Front Street. Club Front is used on this page except in some of the album entries below where the name used on the album cover has been used if it is one of the other name variations.
This page is an attempt to list all released albums that were recorded, mixed, mastered or worked on in some other way at Club Front. It is probable that work was carried out at Club Front on many Grateful Dead archive releases but this was not specifically noted on all of the subsequent album liner notes. In addition I have probably missed a few releases where Club Front is noted. The list of release below is therefore undoubtedly incomplete.
